Buddy Bear Patrol

Buddy Bear Patrol provides plush bears to the Albuquerque Police and Fire Departments through the Family Advocacy Center for distribution to children who are victims of trauma. Assistance League has contributed over 42,000 Buddy Bears to Albuquerque children.

Albuquerque police officers keep several bears in their car trunk so they will always have available a new soft, cuddly bear to comfort a victim in a traumatic situation.

These bears that are dressed by Assistance League volunteers are packed and ready to be delivered to the Police Departments and Fire Departments.

One officer recently told a volunteer as he helped carry 125 outfitted bears into the station, “We sure do use these.”
