The Blue Portal Gift Shop, known as one of the prime places to shop for gifts in Albuquerque Old Town, attracts both locals and tourists. It provides a unique outlet for about 400 senior crafters and artists to show and sell their work to supplement their income. Click here for our gallery.
Since its inception In 1978 at the request of the City of Albuquerque, The Blue Portal has served over 4,900 senior crafters and artists and has returned over $1.5 million to them.
October 2013 marked the 35th anniversary of the Blue Portal. Chapter members celebrated and wore blue to the October meeting and enjoyed a piece of the celebration cake. Judy Parker, Blue Portal Chairman, announced that 5054 talented seniors have sold their work at the Blue Portal.
All sales people are Assistance League volunteers. We charge no commission and return the full proceeds of each sale to the individual crafter or artist.
