We Are Assistance League and We Care
TO CREATE NEW SOLUTIONS FOR ENERGIZING OURSELVES IN ORDER TO BETTER SERVE OUR COMMUNITY
Assistance League of Albuquerque is an all-volunteer, nonprofit, 501(c)(3), Federal Tax I.D. No. 85 6009968, organization dedicated to helping those in need in the metropolitan Albuquerque area.
We are one of 120 local chapters within a national organization, National Assistance League. Through our commitment to hands-on action, nationwide Assistance League volunteers touched the lives of 1.5 million children, seniors, families and others in need this past year. Combined, we returned $38.8 million to communities across the United States.
The Albuquerque Chapter was founded in 1962 and currently has 275 members. Dedicated volunteers donated over 65,000 volunteer hours this past year.
We manage seven philanthropic programs that are focused on lending a helping hand to those in need. Our largest program Operation School Bell® provides yearly 4,000 new uniforms to students in select Title 1 schools. The other programs supply Buddy Bears to children in the time of crises; Tender Loving Care provides blankets and chemo caps to University of New Mexico Hospital; distributes clothing and essentials to victims of rape and abuse; provides essentials for children removed from their homes and placed into protective services due to abuse, neglect or unhealthy environment; offers senior citizen a gallery, Blue Portal, to sell their designs and artwork and collaborates with other nonprofit organizations to provide clothing for people returning to the workplace.
Assistance League of Albuquerque is 100% volunteered staffed. There are countless volunteer opportunities to put your talents, skills and interest to work while giving back to the local community. We invite you to join us to be a part of a very exciting organization that WORKS.
