Who We Are

Assistance League® of Albuquerque is an all-volunteer, nonprofit, 501(c)(3), Federal Tax I.D. No. 85 6009968, organization dedicated to helping those in need in the metropolitan Albuquerque area.

We are one of 120 local chapters within a national organization, National Assistance League. Through our commitment to hands-on action, nationwide Assistance League volunteers touched the lives of 1.5 million children, seniors, families and others in need this past year. Combined, we returned $38.8 million to communities across the United States.

Operation School Bell®

Operation School Bell, the national program of Assistance League, provides appropriate school clothing for over 4,000 elementary and middle school students at 42 Albuquerque Title 1 schools.

The Thrift Store/Furniture Store

Assistance League Thrift Shop, located on Lomas west of San Mateo, offers a wide variety of quality, gently-used items, such as women’s,  men’s, and children’s clothing, jewelry, shoes, books, sports equipment, electronics, paintings, furniture, home décor, dishes, and miscellaneous housewares.  New merchandise is brought to the floor daily. We also have a lovely Red Tag section that features designer clothing.


Our varied programs provide personal care items, clothing, safety skills education, friendship and emotional support for all age groups.
